Meditation prayers (or Puja in sanskrit) are an important component of training in a spiritual life. They help us to still our mind, connect with enlightened beings, and prepare our mind for meditation. Everyone is welcome to attend chanted prayers, there is no need to book and no fee. The heart practice of Kadampa Buddhism, helps us receive inspiration and protection from enlightened beings. A special practice for developing compassion, wisdom, and strength by relying on the Wisdom Buddha Je Tsongkhapa, and for overcoming obstacles and difficulties on the spiritual path by relying on his Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden.
In this practice we combine the prayers with a special offerings.
Offering to the Spiritual Guide
The special Guru yoga practice of Je Tsongkhapa in conjunction with Highest Yoga Tantra. The main practice within the sadhana is relying on the Spiritual Guide, but also includes all the practices of the stages of the path (Lamrim) and training the mind (Lojong).
Liberation from Sorrow
At Kadampa Centres worldwide, the eighth of the month is Tara Day. Tara is a female Buddha, whose name means “Rescuer. She is the embodiment of swift compassion. If we rely upon Tara sincerely and with strong faith, she will protect us from all obstacles and fulfill all our wishes.
